Meet The New Faces of Ello Models Inc.

Now that she’s not working full-time in New Doll City, Chloe is restless. She’s bored. She’s a businesswoman, and she needs a new project.

Luckily, Chloe has the perfect idea! She’s arranged to meet Neko, a young photographer and fashion blogger, to discuss her next plan of action.

“Hi, Neko!” Chloe is cheerful as always. “I’m glad you could meet me! I’m sure you are very busy.”

“Don’t mind my crazy outfit,” Neko explains. “I just finished up a photoshoot.”

“Don’t worry about that!” Chloe laughs. “I called you here to talk about your photography, actually. I have a proposal for you.”

“There’s so many fashion magazines out there, right?” Chloe explains. Neko nods, not sure where this is going. “I want Fashion Planet to stand out! Have something different. So that’s why I’ve decided to start my own modelling agency -exclusive to Fashion Planet!”

“Wow, that’s a big task! But who are your models?”

Chloe thinks for a moment. “Well, uh, I haven’t quite figured that bit out yet… I know lots of talented models in New Doll City, but I don’t know many people here in Aquifolia…”

“Why don’t you just pick people off the street?” Neko asks, pointing to a stranger off in the distance. “That girl seems pretty. Why don’t you ask her?”

Chloe goes over and gives her little speech to the girl.

“But I’m not a model!” she cries. “I’m just a regular girl! I don’t know about any of that stuff!

“That’s not a problem at all!” Chloe explains. “We’ll teach you everything you need to know. And did I mention, it’s a paid position… Fashion Planet is a very popular magazine. We have readers from all over the world! This’ll make you famous!”

“Alright, sign me up!” the girl says, jumping out of her seat.

Neko can’t believe what just happened -that was easy! She can’t wait to get started.

It’s a few hours later and somehow, Neko and Chloe have managed to gather three young models to be apart of their agency. It’s headshot time!

“So what’s this new agency called, anyway?”

“I heard it’s called Ello Models.”

“Ello Models? That’s stupid.”

“Ello, ello, ello!”

“Shh! It’s not stupid. Sit still!”

*muffled giggling*

“You know, I’m kind of a seasoned model. Some would say expert model. Have you ever heard of Fashion Fever?”

“I actually just moved here. I’m from Malibu! I hope to make lots of new friends here.”

“This feels a bit like a school photo. Next you’re going to tell me to take off my makeup! Haha.”

“Who, me? I’m just the photographer. Why am I getting a headshot again…?”

“This is the turning point of my career! No other fashion editor has a whole team of models, ready and waiting, exclusive to their brand! I’m a genius!”

And that’s the new faces of Ello Models! You may or may not have noticed, but at the moment, I’m working on creating a “character index” for all my dolls. It’s under the “photostory” category (up the top, in the header). It’s still under construction, but hopefully I will be able to get it done soon.

  1. I think a character index is a great idea! I’m trying to do one too – but as with all things doing doll blogs, it’s a lot of work and a slow process. Everything looks great when it’s done but I doubt people who haven’t tried to pose dolls without them falling over and make sets don’t realise how much time it takes. But it’s all so much fun it’s well worth the effort!

    1. Yes, it is such a process! Often I change my categorisation / tagging method and that means I have to sort through everything and retag everything (I prefer switching to the OG WordPress for bulk editing, but it’s still time consuming). I find I have soo many characters, and I want to make things as easy as possible for my readers. The better alternative would be “buy less dolls,” but we know I cannot control myself! 😂

I find it amusing when non-doll people say things like ‘you’re just taking photos of dolls, why do you need a special camera? why do you need special lights or backgrounds?’ And you’re right -doll blogging is much more interesting than watching Netflix, shopping or other ‘regular hobbies!’

  2. A character index sounds great, Holly! Exactly how many dolls do you currently have? I’ve lost count, Lol!

So, I’m pretty sure you mentioned the other day that your exams start Friday. Good luck! I’ve already finished mine and am officially free for the summer. I don’t know how familiar you are with Disney’s version of Rapunzel (Tangled), but there’s this scene where Rapunzel swings down out of the tower using her hair and feels the grass for the first time. I believe one of her song lyrics is “For like the first time ever, I’m completely free!” That definitely reflects my feelings right now! Finally free of drama, tests, and studying!

    1. I just finished my exam around ten minutes ago! University exams are crazy intense, they locked up our bags in a BARN. I still have two more assignments to write, but after that, I will also be free!

I have no idea how many dolls I have -I hit 100 a few years ago, but then I got rid of lots, so maybe around 50? I know it sounds excessive, but I feel like I need them all! Or at least, I tell myself I do 😂

      1. Honestly, I couldn’t tell you how many dolls I have, either. I’m going to get rid of some of the ones that have zero articulation because I feel I have way too many like that, you know? I also have the Merliah doll from 2010, and I don’t really use her for anything. Plus, she’s got this crazy long hair which is impossible to manage. Like, in her movie she didn’t have hair that long, so I see no reason for the doll to!

Congratulations on finishing your exam! I didn’t know they’d actually lock up your stuff! Although, my English teacher forced us to put our bags by the door, but in all the others you could just zip your bookbag up and lay it beside your desk. You also had to put all your notes/study guides away. All of this makes sense to me, because they needed to insure nobody would cheat on the exams!

      2. SAME to the zero articulation dolls! I have gotten rid of sooo many of those, especially the Fashionistas who I only bought for the clothes.

I was desperate for the Merliah doll when she first released, but looking at her now, that isn’t the kind of thing I’d go for. You’re right, her hair is a bit too long, and I think her face is kinda bland? I dunno, I think I’m much pickier nowadays!

  3. Wow! A character index sounds awesome! I might do one too – I wonder what other people blogging on Sunshine Bubble Station will think when they see 50 Barbie posts? XD

Also, not that I want to be pushy or anything, but a few posts down on my blog I posted an Identifying Barbie post and I was hoping you could check it out.

    1. Ah, yes, I saw your post! At first I didn’t recognise her, but then I checked again it looks like the 2012 Merliah doll, but I’m not sure if the tattoo is the same? They both have flat feet and similar hair -if it’s not her, it might be another kind of beach doll?

      1. I think the head might be Merliah’s, but that tattoos look a bit different. I think someone might have rebodied her – that would explain the different body shape and the head is Merliah’s.The tattoos are still strange though.
