All Together Now! Cast of 2018

Hello, hello! If you’ve been here for awhile, you might remember a post I wrote in June of 2017 called “All Together Now! Cast of 2017.”

It was basically a big group photo of all my dolls.

I thought it would be fun to recreate this photo, one year later! The 2017 version features my ‘main’ dolls (the ones I used most often, there were several that I left out), but I wanted my 2018 version to include alll my dolls.*

*excluding toddlers and Chelsea-sized dolls.

I assumed that there weren’t going to be many.

I thought “oh, surely, they’ll be much less than last time! I’ve decluttered so many dolls!”

I was wrong.

Very, very wrong.

But that’s a problem for another day! For now, let’s go through the ‘groups’ of dolls and talk about who’s here.

The Kool Kidz (LTR)

My Skipper and Stacie dolls. I have decluttered one Stacie doll and one Skipper doll recently, so there’s only five “younger” dolls left. Out of the five, Chris (Fashionista Petite) is definitely my favourite! I love her sweet face.

The Outcasts™

The dolls that I don’t use very often. In the future, I’d really like to give Andrew a makeover -I think she’d look much better if I fixed up her hair!

The Outcasts™ Continued.

Again, more dolls that I use infrequently. (I know I said I wasn’t going to be including Chelsea-sized dolls, but Tamika ended up in the pile somehow).

The Princess Squad

Thankfully, the number of princesses, fairies and mermaids in my collection has drastically reduced as I really don’t use them very often. These four are special though! I don’t use them at all, but I think they are really lovely dolls and I love the films they are from.

  • Delancy, Princess Charm School Schoolgirl
  • Delancy, Princess Charm School Ballgown
  • Annaliese, Princess and the Pauper
  • Erica, Princess and the Pauper

The Ever After High Girls

These girls are constantly on my “to sell” list, but somehow, they never end up making it there…

I think Rosabella Beauty and Ashlyn Ella are “reproductions” of the original dolls, while Briar is the original version from 2015 (or whenever it was when EAH first came out). I haven’t really researched Ever After High, I’m sorry!

The Bobble Heads

These two are dolls that I didn’t rebody properly. I will fix them up when I get spare bodies for them.

  • Aria, Ski Pink Passport Made to Move (I’m thinking of making her the new “Barbie” character)
  • Kayla, Fashion Fever Wave F

The Main Cast

The main dolls! I really want to focus more on these dolls in the future, since they’re conveniently all articulated bodies already.

  • Neko, Barbie Style Glam Night
  • Nikki, Fashionista
  • Chloe, Fashionista Curvy
  • Aimee, Made to Move Redhead
  • Jessica, Fashionista Petitie
  • Drew, Fashion Fever Wave F
  • Barbie, Fashionista Rainbow Wave (I’m thinking of getting rid of her)

(This photo makes me realise how much I’ve spent on MTM bodies… Especially since Andrew, who’s in another photo, also has a MTM body. That’s seven, which is almost $200!)

The Big Reveal!

And… that’s everyone!*

*Expect for toddlers and Chelsea-sized dolls.

**And also my singular Collector doll, The Look City Shine (Gold). I’m not sure where she is right now…? But it’s basically everyone!

Can you believe I have only lost five dolls from this picture? I thought it would be much more. I suppose the dolls I have decluttered were not featured in this photo because they weren’t very important to start off with!

I wish I had taken a group photo back in 2014 or 2015. My collection was probably at over 100 back then! Perhaps even 150+. Even though I did take lots of doll photos, most of them are from my old computer (which crashed many, many times and I lost everything).

I used to think that “the more dolls, the better,” and if you had a lot of dolls, you were a “proper collector.” But now I realise that having too many dolls is such a hassle! That’s why I want to keep my collection full of dolls that I truly love. I want to own dolls that aren’t just beautiful to look at, but also have well-rounded personalities and lots of life.

Total Count: 21 (not including Chelsea-sized or toddlers)

Also, completely unrelated, but these are some videos I’ve been enjoying lately:

(I know I say I don’t like the Dreamtopia series, but I find it more bearable to watch when it’s Live)

Alright, that’s it! I’ll try to take another group picture next year! xx

  1. Wow, Holly, you have so many lovely dolls! I do too, except I’m at the point where I need to get rid of some. I’m planning to sort through them all and then put them in a box to take to my local post office. (Yes, I said post office, you’re allowed to take in boxes of unwanted things and leave them on this table for people to take if they want it. Seems strange, I know, but they’ve been doing it for a few years now. They have a ton of books, too.)

I was wondering if you’d seen the new live Dreamtopia series! I find it strange that Mattel would stop production of the animated one in favor of this. That’s exactly what they did for Life in the Dreamhouse, but that live version seems to have stopped without explanation.

A few days ago I was looking through Netflix to see if they had uploaded any new Dreamhouse Adventures episodes. They hadn’t, but I’ve seen several leaked episode titles-or at least titles that are supposed to be from the show. That leaves me to believe Mattel plans to upload more to season one pretty soon. How soon, I don’t exactly know. Anyway, I’m wondering when the series will release internationally. It’s been a while now, and I would think it’d be not far off in the future. Perhaps on the date the U.S. receives the new episodes, the international countries will get all of them? That’s what we can hope, I guess. I’m really excited to hear your thoughts on it!

    1. I wonder if they are producing the live version because of the success of so many of those videos where people play with their dolls and film it? (I’m not sure how to describe the genre, but they are popular on YouTube)

Ah that’s so cool! It hasn’t been that long since Season 1 released, so perhaps the second season will release in October/November? I keep asking the Barbie account on Twitter and Instagram when Dreamhouse Adventure will be available internationally, and nobody’s answered me so far. :/ I wonder if they’re avoiding the subject…?

      1. Yeah, I didn’t even think about those doll videos. You’re right, they do seem to be pretty popular. That theory makes sense, Holly, I hadn’t thought of it. : )

They will probably release more episodes in the next month or two. That would be logical to me, at least. I’ve heard other people questioning Mattel about the international release and they also received no response. They should realize the number of international fans they have and release those episodes already! You’re right, it seems like they wanna avoid the issue!

  2. Such a lovely collection, Holly! Even your outcast dolls are so pretty 🙂 I like how you pose them all looking at the camera in your group shots! Thank you for suggesting the various youtube channels like Sam and Mickey! I am officially hooked now and have explored various related Barbie channels with stop motion videos. Have you ever seen Cream Puffs? Amazing, highly detailed stop motion animation cooking shows! Oh, there are so many inspiring people out there! Thank you for sharing your collection with us!!
